Patricia le Roy was born in Liverpool, and holds a degree in French from the University of Sussex. She spent several years as a research editor at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. She lives in Paris, has travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and America, and has published nine novels and a volume of memoirs.
Her books include historical fiction and political thrillers set in Russia, Central Asia, Occupied France, and Nazi Germany. A common theme of these works is the fate of the individual in a society where people are not free to make their own choices.
Patricia has always published in both print and digital form, and in 1998 The Angels of Russia was the first e-book to be submitted for the prestigious Booker Prize.
