Author
Patricia le Roy was born in Liverpool, and holds a degree in French from the University of Sussex. After working as a teacher, translator, secretary and journalist, she spent several years as a research editor at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
This experience proved invaluable when writing The Angels of Russia, Music at the Garden House, and Café Maracanda.
Patricia le Roy has two daughters and three grandchildren, and she lives in Paris. She has travelled extensively in Europe, America and Asia, and makes a point of investigating the settings for her books in person – one exception being Paul’s trek through the Burmese jungle at the end of The Glass Palace Chronicle, and the other, to her everlasting regret, Andrei’s journey across Iran and Afghanistan in Compassion.
